Part Two: Rio

The last time Rio cried had been when he was 16. He was living in yet another foster home with Didi, and they both snuck out almost every night--Didi to see her girlfriend at the time, and Rio to hang out with Angel and Cleo. He’d been in love with Cleo by that time, but he didn’t want a relationship. He knew she had feelings for him too, but he was a teenager and an asshole, so when he pulled a girl onto his lap in the middle of a party and started making out with her right in front of Cleo, he had a front row seat to the look of pure heartbreak on her face.

When he finally pulled back from the girl, Cleo was gone. He had jumped up and ran after her--

--to find her crying in Spooky’s arms. He watched, from his hidden place in the dark, as Spooky cradled her face in his hands, whispering lowly to her, and Rio watched as she let Spooky hold her close.

Rio had never hated his cousin more than he had in that moment...

...and yet he still hated himself more.

That night, he had called Cleo (after sending her several texts that she ignored), and she answered, just once, to tell him to “fuck off”, and he heard Spooky’s voice in the background, calling her name.

It was four in the morning. Why was Spooky with her?

Rio cried himself to sleep that night, his heart breaking, and a swirl of jealousy, envy, shame, and self-hatred going through him.

That had been over a decade ago; now Rio was grown, and so was Cleo.

So was Spooky.

Over the years, Rio and Cleo had only gotten closer, their relationship getting deeper and more intimate as the years rolled on. Despite his calm and cool exterior, Rio was terrified of his feelings for Cleo. Every damn day it was like he loved her more and more; she held all the power, she could make or break him with just one look, and that both terrified and excited him.

She loved him too.

He knew that. Hell, Cleo made it clear that she loved him--she was always braver than him, more vocal, more in-tune with her emotions. Rio could see it--her love for him--when he looked at her. He could hear it in her voice, her laugh, feel it in her touch.

It was intoxicating.

She was intoxicating.

And Rio wasn’t the only one drunk on her.

He kissed her, his body firm against hers, his hands roaming all over her soft skin, touching her reverently like she deserved. He was inside of her, and Cleo was making those noises, those sweet, sexy noises that always made him dizzy with arousal. Rio had just gotten home from a job not more than 30 minutes ago; Miguel had retired to his office with Eve, Didi was at Toni’s, Coco was at Liyah’s, Angel was passed out on the couch, and Spooky was spending time with Marco; he had Cleo all to himself.

He fucking hated being away from her. It used to be tolerable--the separation--at first, but as he grew older and his feelings for Cleo grew deeper, Rio was finding it more and more difficult to be without her, even for just a couple of hours.

So now, as her legs wrapped around his waist and he thrust, slowly, so slowly into her warm wetness, Rio was determined to take his time.

He kissed his way to her ear, one hand on her breast and the other between her (their) legs, rubbing her clit with his thumb. He grinned when he felt her shudder.

“Fuck,” she gasped out, her fingernails digging into his shoulders, “Rio...”

“Fucking missed you, ma,” he whispered back, kissing the smooth shell of her ear, licking at her dangling silver earring, “We ain’t leavin’ this room for the rest of the week...”

She giggled, and Rio’s heart flipped in his chest. Fuck, he fucking loved her. “Besides tomorrow, of course,” she said back.

He stopped, pulling back a bit to look down at her with a frown. “Tomorrow? What we got going on tomorrow?”

“Nothing, I just...” She paused, biting those pretty lips he had just been kissing on, the lips that had been wrapped around his dick like 15 minutes ago. “...I have plans.”

“With Yaya?” He asked back. Rio felt a familiar knot of jealousy start to coil in his chest. He knew she didn’t have plans with Yaya, or Liyah, or any of her girl friends. She had plans with Spooky.

“No...”

Rio pulled out, and she whined in protest. He rolled onto his side, trying to keep a calm face on. “Who you got plans with that you can’t even cancel to spend the day with me?” He asked, hating the underlying insecurity in his question.

“Baby,” Cleo turned onto her side, putting her hands on his chest, “We already made plans before you guys left for the job, but it shouldn’t take all day--”

“--What shouldn’t take all day?”

Cleo paused again, and Rio heard everything he needed to hear in that silent pause. “Me and Spooky are gonna take Marco to the art museum.”

“Ah,” Rio pulled away again, sitting up with a wry smile, “Family day. Got it.”

Cleo sighed, sitting up as well, covering herself with the blanket, “Don’t be a dick.”

“I’m not,” he said back, knowing full well that he was, “I just didn’t know you and Spooky had a date,” he shrugged, “Now I know.”

“It’s not a date!”

“Yeah? It’s you and him spending the day together--”

“--and Marco!”

“Right. And Marco. Spending the day at the museum. How you getting there? Probably taking the train, huh? Marco loves the train. And then, what? Huh? Breakfast? A cozy little coffee shop with live music? Sharin’ a booth, getting comfy? And after the museum, Marco is gonna be hungry, so then that’s lunch, right? And Spooky of course is footin’ the bill cause that’s what a man does when he takes a girl out--”

“Oh my God,” Cleo huffed, rolling her eyes, “Are you seriously doing this? Now? When I was like three and a half strokes away from an orgasm?”

“You’re the one who killed the mood,” Rio sulked back.

Cleo threw her hands up before running one through her thick, curly hair. “I don’t understand why you’re being such an asshole about this.”

“Yeah? Well I don’t understand why you wanna fuck my cousin so damn bad.” He shot back.

They both froze.

Cleo stared at him, eyes wide, and he could see the hurt and anger and confusion in them. But he held his ground; he hadn’t meant to say it, but it was said now. He couldn’t take it back.

Almost a full minute passed before Cleo spoke. “...How can you even say that to me?”

He shrugged one-shoulder, looking away from her open eyes, “That’s what it is, isn’t it? Playin’ mommy with Marco, the museum visits, the movie nights, the paragraphs of texts between you and Spooky?” He looked over at her. “You want him just like he wants you, don’t you?”

She answered in two words: “Fuck. You.”

Rio watched, body warm with anger and shame and embarrassment and panic, as Cleo got up and got dressed. The thought occurred to him, then, as she slipped on her socks (which were actually HIS socks), that they basically lived together. Cleo’s shit was all over his room; they shared a closet and bathroom and dresser (Miguel’s house was so big, each of their rooms was basically a mini-apartment), and with her moving around, grabbing a bag and stuffing it full of clothes and whatnot, Rio got the impression that she was moving out.

She was leaving.

Leaving him?

He didn’t want her to go. Even if she was pissed at him (and she was), he didn’t want her to go. He wanted her to stay. He wanted to hold her and kiss her and forget all about this Spooky shit. He wanted to call out to her and beg her to stay, to just stay with him.

But he didn’t.

Silently, Rio watched her stomp over to the door. She turned to him, eyes shimmering with unshed tears.

“Why is it that it’s always me, not you, that has to prove that what I feel for you is real?” She asked sadly.

He felt a pain in his chest, like a perfect tear right down the middle of his heart. “I don’t know.”

She shook her head, and Rio couldn’t tell if she was disappointed or angry or just... tired. All he knew was, when that door closed behind her, he jumped up and ran to the door. His hand was on the handle, ready to rip it open and run after her, when he heard her shaky voice on the other side, her phone pressed to her wet cheek.

“Spooky...?”

Rio’s hand dropped.

Rio tilted her head to regard Cleo with eyes that showed a fondness for her. While she had felt disappointed after their last encounter, Rio couldn’t say she’d actually been angry with her. Now she’d had time to come to terms with what had happened, she was more than ready to start again with a clean slate. “That depends,” she teased, in a level tone. “Are you going to tell Bennie how you feel? Because I’d hate for all of this to have been in vain.”

April 8, 1946

The shooting schedule ran between April 10 and August 18, 1944, with retakes plus additional segments filmed on December 22, 1944 and then between January 25 and February 6, 1945. The film was first proposed in 1939.

Synopsis ~ We meet a grayed, immaculately garbed Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. in Paradise (his diary entry reads "Another heavenly day"), where he looks down upon the world and muses over the sort of show he'd be putting on were he still alive.

PRINCIPAL CAST

Lucille Ball ('Here's to the Ladies') is appearing in her 64th film since coming to Hollywood in 1933.

Fred Astaire ('Here's to the Ladies' / Raffles in 'This Heart of Mine' / Tai Long in 'Limehouse Blues’ / Gentleman in 'The Babbit and the Bromide') also appeared with Lucille Ball in Roberta (1935), Top Hat (1935), and Follow the Fleet (1936). His name was mentioned twice on “I Love Lucy.”

‘FOLLIES’ TRIVIA

Sidney Guilaroff, Lucille Ball’s hair dresser, who takes responsibility for her famous ‘golden red’ for this movie, becoming her trademark color.

Although they appear in different segments, this is the only feature film collaboration between “I Love Lucy co-stars" Lucille Ball and William Frawley. Coincidently, Frawley's character in this film shares a striking similarity with his iconic character of Fred Mertz on “I Love Lucy.” In this film he plays a money-hungry curmudgeon of a landlord, much like the show. In the above photo, he appears with director Minnelli and co-star Brice.

The horse ridden by Lucille Ball is the Lone Ranger's Silver!

Lucille Ball was actually fired by Ziegfeld from his road company production of Rio Rita in the 1930s.

In February 1956, Lucy and Desi appeared on “MGM Parade” to promote their MGM film Forever Darling. The show also included footage of Lena Horne singing from Ziegfeld Follies.

Lucy also played a showgirl in pink in “Lucy Gets Into Pictures” (ILL S4;E19) aired on February 21, 1955. The scene was inspired by Ziegfeld’s legendary stage shows featuring beautiful women wearing elaborate costumes navigating long staircases. To solidify the comparison, Ricky says he is going to a meeting with Mr. Minnelli. Vincente Minnelli was one of the directors of Ziegfeld Follies.

Lucy Ricardo had previously cavorted around in a lampshade in the manner of a Ziegfeld girl in both the unaired pilot and “The Audition” (S1;E6).

Ziegfeld Follies includes a sketch for Red Skelton called “When Television Comes” aka “Guzzler’s Gin” in which a (future) television spokesman gets increasingly sloshed on his product. This sketch was an obvious influence on Lucy’s Vitameatavegamin routine in “Lucy Does a TV Commercial” (ILL S1;E30) aired on May 5, 1952.

Ziegfeld Girl Eve Whitney appeared on “I Love Lucy” episode “The Charm School” (ILL S3;E15). She used her own name for the character.

The Telegraph Boy in "A Sweepstakes Ticket" Arthur Walsh - appeared on “I Love Lucy” in “Lucy Has Her Eyes Examined” (ILL S3;E11) as Arthur ‘King Cat’ Walsh. He teaches Lucy how to jitterbug.

The first Judge in the “Pay the Two Dollars” James Crehan also played the Police Detective on “I Love Lucy in “The Great Train Robbery” (ILL S5;E5) first aired on October 31, 1955.

Porky, a voice on the telephone in “Number Please” Peter Lawford, played “Password” against Lucille Ball on September 24, 1964. At the time, Lawford was married to President Kennedy’s sister, Patricia. On November 26, 1968, Ball was a guest on “The Tonight Show” when Peter Lawford was sitting in for Johnny Carson.

Chorus Boy Bert May appeared as a solo dancer on “The Lucy Show” in “Lucy and Tennessee Ernie Ford” (TLS S5;E21) in February 1967.

In the dressing room, Lucy jokes with Fanny Brice, one of the funniest women in showbusiness. This was the only time Ball and Brice collaborated and was Brice’s last film.

Ziegfeld’s follies began on Broadway, so it was appropriate that the show featured past and future Broadway musical stars:

Cleo knew a little of what this party was supposed to entail and had heard Bennie mention going, so had gone along herself. But Cleo wasn’t going to end up in a car with somebody random, somebody creepy. With her history there was nothing more terrifying than the idea of that. She was smart and though a little unlike her, she’d devised a plan. She’d memorised the look of Bennie’s keys and dipped her hand into the bowl of keys with her eyes wide open, knowing exactly which ones she planned on taking out. Feeling proud with herself, Cleo ran along to Bennie’s vehicle and happily got in. “Well that certainly could have turned out a lot worse,” she’d said to the redhead with a grin. But what she didn’t realise was that two people had the key and there was a blonde heading closer. Cleo hadn’t noticed. Her eyes were fixated on Bennie’s. She wanted her more after their kiss, more than she’d thought she’d ever want with anyone.

Bolsonaro x Bebianno: áudios expõem perigosamente o Governo

Durou apenas algumas horas a tentativa do Governo Bolsonaro de virar a página da crise que envolveu a demissão de Gustavo Bebianno da Secretaria-Geral da Presidência da República. A primeira baixa da gestão segue em todas as manchetes após a divulgação, pela revista Veja, de áudios de WhatsApp de conversas entre o presidente e seu ex-ministro, ofuscando as agendas tidas como prioritárias pelo Planalto, como o pacote anticrime do Ministério da Justiça ou a expectativa para a reforma da Previdência nesta quarta. Nas mensagens disponíveis para a degustação do público, fica perigosamente exposto um presidente que, há menos de dois meses no cargo, desconfia de iniciativas de um aliado próximo –inclusive de seus contatos com a "inimiga" Globo–, respalda todas as atitudes de seu filho considerado mais irascível e está preocupado com a "batata quente" em que se transformou o escândalo das candidaturas-laranja de seu partido, o PSL.

Em termos factuais, os áudios revelados pela revista põem em xeque a versão dos Bolsonaro no ponto de inflexão da crise, quando o vereador Carlos Bolsonaro (PSC-RJ), disse, no Twitter, que o então ministro havia mentido sobre ter conversado três vezes com seu pai pelo telefone, dando a entender, na versão da família presidencial, que havia discutido o escândalo do PSL. Depois, o próprio Bolsonaro disse na TV que não havia conversado com Bebianno, endossando a acusação de mentiroso.

A revista revela troca de mensagens que se deram aparentemente no dia em que os Bolsonaro negam a conversa. Na sequência, o agora ex-ministro tenta se defender e critica Carlos: “Capitão, há várias formas de se falar. Nós trocamos mensagens ontem três vezes ao longo do dia, capitão. (...) Qual a relevância disso, capitão?". Bebianno afirma, sem citar, que filho de Bolsonaro está agindo "com ódio". De quebra, o agora ex-ministro ainda revela reservas do poderoso núcleo militar do Governo com um então colaborador estratégico de Bolsonaro, um dos aliados mais longevos (fora da família) no arranjo do novo Governo. "O senhor se lembra que, no início, eu não podia participar daquelas reuniões de quartas-feiras, porque os generais teriam restrições contra mim?", pergunta Bebianno, que foi, nos bastidores, defendido pela ala oriunda das Forças Armadas que defendiam sua permanência.

· A mapa da mídia de Bolsonaro

Todos os áudios do presidente, em conjunto, também expõem o mapa da mídia com que trabalha Bolsonaro e o Governo. O presidente acusa o então ministro de "mandar" no site O Antagonista e plantar (fazer publicar, no jargão) ali informações. E uma das desavenças centrais com Bebianno gira em torno da decisão do então ministro de receber em seu gabinete o vice-presidente de Relações Institucionais do Grupo Globo, Paulo Tonet Camargo. Bolsonaro reage, proíbe o encontro, dizendo que receber Tonet significava trazer "o inimigo para dentro de casa", e o complicaria "com as outras emissoras".

A conversa põe às claras o que já era mais ou menos conhecido. O presidente tem dado entrevistas preferencialmente à TV Record. A emissora de Edir Macêdo, concorrente da Globo, deu apoio público a Bolsonaro durante a campanha. Bolsonaro também teve encontros com Silvio Santos, do SBT, e tem se mostrado favorável à medidas que prejudicariam a Globo, líder do mercado, como o fim do BV – ou "bônus por volume", que é recebido pela agência que destina a um determinado veículo um pacote grande de publicidade e incentiva a concentração das campanhas. A família presidencial tem se mostrado ressentida com o destaque dado pela Globo ao escândalo envolvendo o senador Flávio Bolsonaro.

O Globo reagiu ao vazamento em nota: "O Grupo Globo considera que não tem nem cultiva inimigos. A própria natureza de sua atividade jamais permitiria qualquer postura em contrário", diz o texto, que afirma que Tonet buscou o Governo em "relações estritamente institucionais e republicanas".

· Escândalo dos laranjas no PSL

O áudio mostra Bolsonaro preocupado com o escândalo das candidaturas-laranja revelado pela Folha de S. Paulo, que envolve candidatas do PSL em Pernambuco e Minas Gerais. “Querer empurrar essa batata quente desse dinheiro lá pra candidata em Pernambuco pro meu colo, aí não vai dar certo. Aí é desonestidade e falta de caráter", reclama Bolsonaro. Bebianno retruca dizendo que nada nos Estados eram de sua responsabilidade e avalia que o presidente foi “bem envenenado” contra ele.

Por ora, Bebianno ainda não falou publicamente sobre a demissão, ainda que desde o fim de semana se especulava de que ele próprio tenha vazado as conversas para a Veja. O ex-advogado de Bolsonaro, que o acompanhou desde a campanha e ganha alcunha de homem-bomba potencial nos meios políticos, apenas retirou de suas redes sociais uma foto com Bolsonaro. Nesta quarta, Bolsonaro pretende ganhar as manchetes levando a proposta de reforma da Previdência ao Congresso. Mas, para que o plano dê certo, a rádio-novela com seu ex-ministro não pode ter novos capítulos.

15. Have they ever had a black eye?

Rio earned his first black eye when he was 14. Some dude on the bus called Didi a “dyke”, and Rio obviously had to jump over six rows of seats and fight the dude, which got him a black eye and two weeks suspension. But nobody at their school ever used that word with Didi again, so Rio wore the black eye like a badge of honor.

16. When was the last time they cried?

The last time Rio cried in public was when he was very small, at his father’s funeral. He and Didi had been very young, about seven and five, respectively. He remembered the salty taste of tears and the way his little body had shaken when they lowered his dad into the ground. He also remembered the pitying stares and annoyed looks from the adults at the event. Rio had almost stopped crying when he’d heard someone mutter “did anyone tell Miguel his brother died?” The answer had Rio crying all over again: “No.”

The last time Rio cried, however, had been when he was 16. He was living in yet another foster home with Didi, and they both snuck out almost every night--Didi to see her girlfriend at the time, and Rio to hang out with Angel and Cleo. He’d been in love with Cleo by that time, but he didn’t want a relationship. He knew she had feelings for him too, but he was a teenager and an asshole, so when he pulled a girl onto his lap in the middle of a party and started making out with her right in front of Cleo, he had a front row seat to the look of pure heartbreak on her face. When he finally pulled back from the girl, Cleo was gone. He had jumped up and ran after her--

--to find her crying in Spooky’s arms. He watched, from his hidden place in the dark, as Spooky cradled her face in his, and he watched as she let him hold her close. Rio had never hated his cousin more than he had in that moment...and yet he still hated himself more.

That night, he had called Cleo (after sending her several texts that she ignored), and she answered to tell him to “fuck off”, and he heard Spooky’s voice in the background, calling her name.

It was four in the morning? Why was Spooky with her?

Rio cried himself to sleep that night, his heart breaking, and a swirl of jealousy, envy, shame, and self-hatred going through him.

17. Is it difficult to make them cry?

Extremely. Rio could count the number of times he cried as a child on his hands, and the last time he’d cried was when he was a 16 year old teenager. It is very difficult to make Rio cry.

18. What is the worst injury they've had?

Rio broke his ribs when he was a junior in high school playing football. The pain had been incredible; every movement was agony for him.

He’s also fractured his ankle running from the police (he kept running until he was safe, too), and he’s had a concussion from a particularly brutal fight in juvi.

Rio rapped on the door three times. Twice didn't seem keen enough, and four times seemed too excessive. She stood, small bouquet of red roses in hand, waiting for Cleo to come to the door. The blonde suddenly looked down at her ensemble, wondering how her brunette companion would be dressed. Rio had spent more time than usual pondering over what to wear, eventually opting for her best pair of jeans and a pretty blouse. As she caught sight of her reflection in the window glass near the door, Rio gave her brightest possible smile and hoped that her nerves wouldn't be as evident as she felt they were.

This was all very unnatural for Rio; the flowers, the deliberation over her outfit, the overly-anxious desire to impress. Cleo just had a hold over Rio that she couldn't quite put her finger on. Ever since they'd first met, she'd felt an instant attraction that had only intensified, like their initial encounter had been the kindling that ignited a flame, and each subsequent meeting had been the fuel to make it burn brighter and stronger. It couldn't be love, not yet. But Rio knew she couldn't get Cleo out of her head, and if she didn't get the chance to satisfy her passion with at least a kiss, she had no doubt it would drive her wild.

The door finally opened. Rio's eyes landed on her date for the evening, and the most natural smile she'd ever accomplished brightened her face as she handed the roses to Cleo. "You look wonderful, as ever," she told her, stepping forward and into the house. "I know some people aren't a fan of roses, so if you're one of them, just bin them later and I'll never have to know." Rio tilted her wrist to check her watch. "I'm a bit early, actually. The reservation isn't until 7. I mean, we could go out for a walk first, or--" Rio broke off when she caught a flash of red hair out of the corner of her eye. "Is there someone else here or am I going mad?"

in CF AU, do Spooky, Cleo, and Rio ever hash out the thing between the three of them? If this was a different type of fanfic, I'd say bang it out between the three of them, but I doubt that it would work here, even putting aside the family relationship. They're too much like each other and too close for that.

This has been in my inbox for a longggggg time, when I read it, I was like “!!!!!!!”. So, here’s some Spooky, Cleo, Rio tension for you guys! (Also, Rio and Spooky could definitely pass for cousins!)

Part One: Spooky

Spooky had always been... fond of Cleo. She was smart, funny, loyal and beautiful; her smile could turn his entire day around, her laugh made him laugh. Cleo, to him, was a prime example of everything that was right in the world.

But she was in love with his cousin.

It wasn’t like Spooky hadn’t known she was in love with Rio. He remembered the first time he met Cleo. She’d been at the park with Angel and Rio, and Spooky remembered the way his eyes had trailed over her long legs, already assessing the pretty girl...

...but then she had said Rio’s name, and just from the way she said it, Spooky could tell she had a thing for his younger cousin. And then, when Rio turned, his heavily lidded eyes slowly going over to Cleo, Spooky had paused.

Rio had a thing for her, too.

Spooky had been fine with that arrangement. He figured Rio would bang her, probably break her heart, and then she would become fair game.

But that didn’t happen.

Instead, Rio and Cleo continued to grow closer. She was around so often, that Spooky ended up getting closer to her too. Sometimes, on the nights he couldn’t sleep, when his wife claimed to be working late, but he knew she was out with her lover, when he felt like a failure and a fool, Cleo was the only thing that kept him from falling apart. He would spend hours talking with her, either on the phone or in person, her smile and comforting words calming his troubled heart.

It was on a night like that when Spooky realized he was in love with her.

They were sitting on the couch, Marco, not even a year old yet, curled up in Cleo’s lap as she sat beside Spooky.

“You know how Rio is,” Cleo said, rolling her pretty brown eyes, “He says he’s fine, but then he gets all weird and sulky,” she sighed, taking hold of Marco’s little foot, “Sometimes it’s like he enjoys pushing me away...” She frowned, and in that moment, as she poured her heart out to Spooky about her feelings for Rio, her pretty lips turned down as she spoke, Spooky thought to himself:

Damn, I want to kiss her.

And so he did.

He leaned over and pressed his lips against hers, his heart pounding in his chest. What if Lena came home? What if Rio walked in? What if this was Marco’s first memory, Daddy kissing Auntie Cleo?

What if she didn’t kiss back?

Spooky felt her freeze up, but she didn’t pull back. After a moment, he broke the kiss, his eyes on hers.

“I--” she started.

“I know,” Spooky had said, a wry smile growing on his tingling lips, “I’m sorry.”

“Yeah, no, you’re okay...” She swallowed, looking anywhere but at him. “I should... I promised Yaya I’d check out her newest routine, so...” She handed the baby to him, standing up. “Night Spooky,” she leaned down and gave Marco a warm smile, earning an affectionate giggle from him, “goodnight Marco. Be good for your Papi, yeah?”

Spooky nodded, gently bouncing his son on his knee as he watched Cleo rush off. He felt guilty.

He felt... rejected.

That had been years ago, and Spooky’s feelings for Cleo had only grown as the years had gone on. But since that night, he’d seen Rio open up more and more to her, allowing himself to be vulnerable with her. Once Miguel had come into their lives, Spooky had seen Cleo around the mansion more often than not, that heart-stopping smile directed at Rio, and Spooky would feel his heart clench up in his chest.

Sometimes, when Spooky was in a particularly introspective mood, he would watch Rio and Cleo, laughing in the kitchen, huddled together in the living room, a shared look of secret intimacy passing between them before they both retired to Rio’s room for the night, and when Spooky saw that...

...he would feel sick.

He wanted to punch the wall--or Rio.

And the thought of resorting to violence against his cousin because of his jealousy filled Spooky with disgust. He was better than that; he was happy for them, honest to God he was happy for them, Rio deserved to have someone like Cleo in his life, and for as long as she had stuck by his side, Cleo for sure deserved to be happy with Rio. And yet...

...Spooky still felt that familiar rock of jealousy in the middle of his chest.

And he knew that it wasn’t going to go away any time soon.
